In Defereggental you can look forward to a true pearl of a ski area! Even though we only have 24 kilometers of pistes available, the St. Jakob Ski Center is a hot tip amongst skiing “insiders”. From November to April, the ski area offers first-class skiing conditions and a wide world of exciting adventures.
Family ski area and snowboarding
St. Jakob Ski Area in Defereggental is famous as a family ski area, and that includes a practice lift right next to the valley terminal along with a small kids area, where our youngest holiday guests always feel completely at home.
For snowboarders, not only does the ski area itself offer some great slopes, there’s also a snow park with jumps, rails and other obstacles. In other words, the prospects have never been brighter for these, the most beautiful months of your entire year!
Unique views of the Hohe Tauern
From here at Hotel Tandler, it is only 400 meters to the valley lift station. Once you reach the top at 2500 meters above sea level, you will be greeted by breathtaking mountain vistas including the Grossglockner, Austria’s tallest peak, as well as the more than 50 other 3,000-meter peaks in the Hohe Tauern range. And when it’s time to head down from the crest of the mountain, you will have easy, intermediate and expert pistes to choose from, always with ideal snow conditions guaranteed.
